Yay, the dust bowl has finally had a day's worth of rain! All the dust on my car has washed off and the lottie looks very grateful (slurp slurp) ... and my water butt is half full! We haven't had any proper rain for ages. Oops - I've just changed from a seedling to a sprouter! Oo- er!

First rain here yesterday and today for around two months. The ground really needs it. Tap water just doesn't do the job. Nice gentle rain too, so hopefully it will soak in. Sorry peeps, but I really need a few more days (or nights) of constant gentle rain.

Back from holiday to rain here too. I would like a nice dry sunny day now please so that I can get all the holiday washing dry and can get on with some garden clearing, still loads of crops to pick too.BumbleB

Woke up to heavy rain this morning and it continued until about 5 o'clock this evening.
Never saw the garden so dry and have had the hose out a few times just to keep the soil friom turning to dust.
I suppose now its started it won't know when to stop.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I was driving through it yesterday and it slashed down so hard that it was running across the drains instead of flowing down them.
This is the second day of torrential rain that my chooks have experienced in the 4 weeks they've appointed me their slave. They don't like it very much.If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess
