LadyWayne took Bean for his 8 (actually 9, but they got him in early) month developmental check yesterday.

Shan't bore you with the details - but suffice to say LW wasn't impressed.

The doctor "predicted" that Bean is going to be tall (I know, we've heard this before), and that he would be a "big lad".

I seem to remember someone saying that you are half your full adult height by the time you're 2. Not sure I believe it, but bear with me...

Bean currently measures 89cm and is 8 months old.

Now, if I'm 2 metres tall - and if he's only 11cm off being 1 metre at 8 months....

He was 69cm (I think) at birth, so has grown 20 cms in 8 months.

Definitely sounds like he's going to be basketballer height.
Apparently it's 2years + 1 month for boys and -1month for girls doubled that is their adult height.
Doctors are really good at stating the obvious though aren't they?

..ok just read down and it says the chart thing is not appropriate if either parent is not of normal stature!

I have a grown up bean who is 6.4. But he did not start to climb until he was 12 when he put on a huge growth spurt. He now has a little girl who is two. She so far is petite and slim but healthy and strong. Her mum is just 5.2 so we will have to wait and see if she shoots up in her height later.

I was back row, centre of every single one of my school photos and ended up at 6ft 5 when I left school at 16. I reched my now height of 6ft 7 when I was 20/21.
