I'll be lifting tatties all weekend if it's dry. If it's not I'll be clearing those areas in the tunnel that need clearing and same with the shed. In the evenings (not just this weekend but before next Saturday, I shall be making all of the following - quince jelly, quince cheese, beetroot chutney, Apple jelly (some with mint, some with sage, some with rosemary some with chilli), parsley jelly, pickled onions, pickled red cabbage and rowan jelly. I was also gonna make Autumn Chutney (apples and pears) but having seen the thread on here, I think I'll try Pear Honey instead.

This morning's dichotomy was soon resolved as the OH came down and made me a cuppa; so I continued playing Mafia Wars and all was well with the world.

Bother, it appears to be dry, thus I shall have to leave wandering down to the village for at least a bit later.

I was hoping to start my broad bean off to-day but the man on the market didn't have any on Thursday(may have some to-day)

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Saturday - create 'to-do list'. Make sure I include at least 4 things I have done already so I can cross them off and feel smug. Cross off another couple of things that no longer seem important. Dash around like a mad thing and do a couple more things on the list. Cross them off. Sit down and go onto the vine for hours until I get pins and needles in my sit-upon. Turn computer off and telly on - pour a glass or two. Forget the list and find it a few weeks later under the sunday paper stack.

Is that, like, a football thing?

Anyhow - felt crap all day so have done very little. Did get rid of some brassicas that were a 'decoy' for the cabbage whites today; and the whitefly - phew - clouds of the buggers. Luckily I had my trusty helper [the OH] on call for the hard work of getting them out and chopping them down to compost.

And planted out a bed of 'Rose de Roscoff' onions for seed saving next year. And put some more 'Rossa Di Milano' onions inbetween the others in another bed for seed saving next year. I'll move the least grown ones next spring back home for the actual flowering but they need a good lot of space for the winter to grow on.

Going back to bed soon for the third time today. Bleugh.

Don't know if there are more of them over there, it's just that I used to move in that circle (Liverpool bar) and that was one I could remember.
