I'll be washing school uniforms, chopping down brambles, digging, planting onion sets & garlic, taking down bean-frames & wigwams, cooking, cleaning, studying, modding, and hopefully somewhere in there - sleeping
I'll be planting shallots, raspberries and a tayberry on the allotment, possibly some strawberries too if I can get Mr J to dig a bed for them. I've got to decide which chillies to overwinter and bring them indoors before the frosts hit. In the house it'll mainly be washing up and tidying up. Also need to remove the 10ft log that my son dragged home from a walk yesterday and stick it in the garden. He wants to turn it into a dragon scarecrow apparently!
I'm starting well, meeting AL this evening, can't wait
The rest of the weekend will be weather dependant.
If dry will undoubtedly include cycle ride with son.
I hope to clear 2 beds and top up with horse manure, once dug in, one will have onions. Gave up on the house some time ago, supposed to be OH's job but never gets done so 'tis a mess and will have to stay that way. Life's too short
I will however be washing scool uniforms and reciting numbers 1-10 in German with my son so that hopefully he will learn them
I will be supervising the rest of the roof going on our extension, the plumber reconnecting the boiler, the builder insulating the walls and putting plaster boards up, and OH fitting cables.... Think I will be worn out and need a drink!
Oh just remembered I will be on children duty... the wine will have to wait til they've gone to bed!
I'll be undoing the bean supports; screwing the newly made raised beds together, and putting next year's posts back up [attached TO the new raised beds]. Digging a compost trench for the winter's scraps; planting out up to another 200 onion sets; and about the same amount of leeks need going into their final positions. And hopefully harvesting the final tranche of shelly beans.
I'll hopefully be doing a bit of driving for one of the supermarket chains tonight (every little helps) and a little bit of driving tomorrow for another (Twiggy and her friends )if all goes to plan.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.
Hacking back the hedge that seems to have grown 10ft inwards since I bought this house.
Turning over and filling the last raised bed.
Continuing to strim, rake, mow ,rake and finally mow again the lawn which is a bit mad
Sweep the chimneys
Make some marrow wine
Start to extend the woodshed with all my free wood that I'm collecting tomorrow morning.
Starting the shelving unit in the potting shed.
Work out where my new leather armchair is going to be placed.
Well thats the plan at least. I'll probably wander down to the village and spend all Saturday in the bar, fall off my stool and get sent home in disgrace by Ginette.
