Fimo help.

In the process of making some Tudor coins for Daisy's homework.Bought the fimo last week,not thinking to pick up an instructions leaflet,(I used to make loads from it in the past)
However,I have no memory of how to bake it!
Does anyone know the temp I need to set the oven at & how long they need to be in for?
I have tried googling,but so far all the sites I've come across tell me to refer to manufacturer's guidelines!

Awww...Fimo! My mum used to buy that for us, and I've just bought some about four years too early for our little ones. If you need any more info, then I've got a booklet to hand!

Might be a tad early for the littlest of the little ones but sure you could "supervise" the older one!
I'd forgotten how much I used to love it,one Christmas every friend & family member got a string of multicoloured swirly fimo beads.
At least three years ago Daisy & Ash made family little fimo cats & snails for their presents...very rustic looking but from what I was told to my face,appreciated all the same.(making them 4 & 2)

Get making Girlie...you know you wanna!!!

BTW...coins were baked for half an hour at 130 & set perfectly!

You're right, I do wanna! I love the stuff. I bought some of the 'stone' fimo some years ago, that looks like granite and various stone/rock types.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be giving it a go tomorrow now...

OK I'm odd - I've never seen FIMO although I have heard of it. I just Googled it and went to Wikipedia - it looks like a really useful substance! Please post pics of your creations (and where this stuff is obtainable) I could have so much fun you'd never hear from me again!

Honestly,although of late I've only bought it for kiddy creations,I used to make loads of stuff with it in my later teen years & twenties.
Andi made some really intricate little pots eons ago and they're still dotted around the house being useful.
I came across a page yesterday where a chap had made some really amazing bits,I'll try to find it again & post it.

As a beginner,I'd reccomend you start off with beads,unless you fancy making some snails & cats!

One of my hobbies is dollshouse miniatures so I used Fimo to make lots of things, like vegetables, pots and people. Another material to use is Das its an air drying clay and easier than Fimo because you can paint the finished item instead of having to blend different packets of Fimo to get the colour you need.

As a beginner,I'd reccomend you start off with beads,unless you fancy making some snails & cats!

Oooooooh, I loved Fimo when I was a kid (my sisters and I had hours of fun with it) and saw some again a few years back when I started making jewellery so bought some to make beads!

So much fun!

We had a little book when we were kids, don't know if anyone else had one too, but it had instructions on how to make things including a little seal with a ball but I could never get it right... it was one of the first things I tried to make once I got some new Fimo and was well chuffed when I managed it!!!

Oooh yes - piccies please!

I used to play with Plasticene for hours as a kid - model-making is something that I just took to years ago; mud, cardboard, clay, anything really - I even sculpted a Horse laying down out of a pile of sand my Dad had delivered. I went potty when he said he was going to use it!

Quite fancy 'proper' model-making but I'm not allowed near my DH's welder lol
