We've just got back from holiday down in the New Forest and got talking to a couple who ran one of the local pubs. They did really lovely home cooked food with loads of choice of veg (I had a dish of brocolli, leeks, cauli, carrots and a few sprouts last night, all nice and properly cooked). We went there a few times as it was friendly and the food great, as a couple of people have said, too many places overface you with a massive amount of protein and hardly anything green (or orange etc!). It's pretty bad in this country but even worse in the US when I was there - I was dreaming of a nice salad / plate of veg! Surprised about what people are saying about Italy though as I was fed loads of fresh veg when I was staying in the southern part of the country.
