to introduce myself to quote the rolling stones song. As some of you may know we had to have our old dog put down just before Christmas and to be honest it was the worst Christmas ever!

Well, we said no more dogs for a year at least then my wifes boss found out about a 13 week old Springer spaniel pup that was taken to the vets to be put down because it attacked her cat. The nurse at the vets took it in & tried to find it a new home and so, here she is ......

I love news like this. I understand your thoughts on not getting another dog so quickly, but he? came to you so it is meant to be

Compared withour old dog (an elderley Cocker who would have been 16 this year) she's like a whorlwind!! ANd she barks something Meg never did. but she'll fit in nicely I thinkas she's completley barking if you pardon the pun

Seroiusly I know what its like to lose dogs and although they were working dogs and never in the house you do get a bonding that is very hard to let go of .My favs are collies but cockers come a very close second .A new pup is a very special thing and so much depends on the next few weeks . Good luck mate.

A lovely ending for a sad time Nick. The same thing happened to us last Christmas, we had to have our 15 year old put to sleep 10 days before Christmas and it was a horrible Christmas. Then we got a phone call from the vets the day after Boxing Day looking for a home for a 6 month lab/collie whose owner had died. Aimee blasted into our lives on that day and we've never looked back.

It really is lovely when the dogs find us isn't it!

Congratulations Grief family - wishing you many years of happiness together.

The most intelligent dog I ever knew was a springer - used to take itself off to the beach all day, sit and wait to cross roads, looked at traffic and took care of herself. On the beach she would find children to throw stones for her and play, cadge a pastie for lunch, then take herself home at 5pm!
                            Brilliant dog.
I always said it would be the breed I have when I get one. We are cat orientated at the moment - ruled by two black castrated toms who have nearly got us house trained!

I'm so sorry you lost your dog Nick. I do know what it's like to lose a family pet. But you have Nacho now, and she has you. Lucky pair. Many years of happiness together.
