Lovley pics Nick! You sure Nacho isnt part Parrot, sitting on your shoulder like that I was expecting her to start saying 'Nacho wanna cracker!'

Its cute when they snuggle up on you at that age, but when they get a bit bigger it can be a bit of a problem! Bella (our dog) is a Great Dane / Alsatian crossbreed, and stands about 28" tall at her shoulder, and weighs about 7 stones, but she still thinks she's a puppy (well, she is only about 18 months / 2 years old), and loves to lie n your lap or sit on the back of the couch, quite a hefelump she can be! (Especially if she's unlucky enough to step on Mr D's bits when climbing up! )

She's gorgeous Nick & probably just needs a little bit of training to calm her down a bit. Having said that we spent 10 & a half years trying to train our boxer dog & never really succeeded! She still used to climb on my knee for a cuddle when she was nearly as big as me, especially if we took her on holiday to a strange cottage & she felt a bit nervous!

AAAAW soooo cute! Thing is, train a dog proper and they've got it for life. Kids on the other hand......

Mind you, could be the owners fault (sorry, parents I meant to say!) We spend two years training our kids to walk and talk, then the next 18 years telling them to sit down and shut up! Only kidding, really. I got four amazing children - oldest 33 youngest 17, and a grandson. I don't need pets, ha ha! However, my wife and I are looking forward to getting a retired greyhound. Will post piccies when.

How can a supposedly intelligent human being think that a puppy so young would worry a cat. I think it was the other way round. I used to have a dog who, when he strutted down the road caused other dogs to roll over. We also had two cats; guess who ruled the roost. Yep, not the dog.

Hope you have many years with her Nick

You can't count spaniels in the same frame as other dogs though.

We have 2 cockers and I can remember keeping the pup company when he first arrived and couldn't sleep. At 2 in the morning he was licking me to wake me up so that he could climb into his basket.

Often it's the only place I can get some peace and quiet. I am regularly in the dog house. (Yorkshire for being in trouble)

Boo is a boxer, just turned 2, and she loves nothing more than a cuddle. I did the bad thing when we first got her. Caved in at the first little howl at night and let her come to bed with me. OH was disgusted with me at that, she supposed to be his dog, but on the second night when I went to go to bed, she hopped off his lap and trotted after me, still don't think I've been forgiven! Got less sleep with that dog than I did with a newborn baby! Boo still likes to sleep with me now, but shes la fair old lump now. Shes currently flat on her back on the couch, snorin and twitchin. Still my baby puppy though.

Looks a smashing pup, Nick. I wish you many long years of happiness with her. And the bonus is the satisfaction of knowing you saved her life.

Kirsty when we first got Tess she cried so much that I sat up with her in the kitchen until she fell asleep for the first week or so! She was all cuddled up in her bed with a teddy & a clock wrapped in a blanket(ticking noise supposed to be like mum's heartbeat?) & I was sat there on a hard kitchen chair in the dark nodding off until I could hear her snore!
