A very beautiful, brave young man

Hi folks,

I have thought about this and have decided to post for those of you who have followed the progress of my nephew Bradley (in the blog link below).

I am very sad to say that last night he passed away, in the arms of his mum and dad, with all of us there in the room with him. It was very peaceful, and he was in no pain. After the initial flurry of phone calls and the visit from the nurses, we all poured a drink and toasted this beautiful young man and sat with him remembering, laughing and crying, with the additional family members who arrived afterwards. We are sure he had a little smile on his lips by the time he left the house.

My sister has read every message that any of you have ever posted on the blog, and appreciated every one.

He will be loved and missed forever and we will always be grateful for what we did have.

I am a newbie here Kirsty and was not aware of the plight of your beautiful nephew Bradley. It goes without saying, I am sure, that there is nothing I can say to ease the pain that you all are suffering. That said - I am suffering too.

Dear Kirsty - I have never seen the blog about Bradley and I am so sad for your family's loss.

I'm glad you toasted his memory and I hope that in the midst of the loss you will be able to manage a smile or two for this amazing young man and the memories he leaves behind.

I am having problems again with my own son - maybe a little older than Bradley - who had to be taken under section to hospital for the umpteenth time to protect him from himself just day before yesterday.

I simply cannot imagine how deep the terrible loss of a son or daughter must be at such a young age. But at least he was pain free and left this world in the comforting arms of his mum and dad. It was not just Bradley who was brave, but all those who held him and nurtured him through these dreadful days. My hat goes off to you all.

RIP Bradley and may peace and strength be with your family at this difficult time.

Kirsty, I know how you feel. Just take some consolation that the nightmare is over for him. I know it leaves the rest behind, but there are always memories and dreams.
