  • And Your Day Went Like WOT Today......?!

Personally, not every day that I live smacks Trousers about the head with a gardening theme, so I thought it might be a nice idea to give him a bit of a breather, and give him something else to read about on the forum at kind of 5or6am?! Absolutely NOTHING to do with gardening or growing stuff - I just thought you might like to put pen to paper about how your day actually went today, and what you learnt....?!

May I suggest an 'upbeat theme' and 'clean', because my intentions here are purely for us to to entertain each other, with a smile on our faces,

Trousers and I returned from our second holiday 'togevver', and I learned that I simply adore him, and could never be without him in my life.... which I'm hugely proud to admit, and now I'm going to have to cook and clean and wash his clothes, maybe, forever. Bu@@er....

In addition to that, both Trousers and I have found out 'for real' that our gardening cat not only tolerates and likes us, but she simply ADORES us.(see Wellie nod her head sagely, suggesting to Trousers that 'she thought so'...?)
AND - see BC asleep on Wellie's head last night. No, actually, don't?
I swear her foot was in my ear, up my nose, round my neck? Or was that Trousers?

If today, our first full day back from holiday, wasn't fantastic enough to be leaning over the dry stone walls and fences, reacquainting ourselves with the boys'n'girls of the farmyard, the most beautiful bouquet of roses and lillies appeared, with some champagne truffles, in the arms of my very favourite next door neighbour, as a belated birthday gift. Which completely 'blew me away'. For once, momentarily, I was speechless.
I simply LOVE being home again. X

How fabulous it is to be away ... how fabulous is it to be home again. My boys have not left my side since my return from Forn Parts last week - which is lovely, but cat-purring-and-dribbling-lying-on-computer-keyboard at work is not good for the turnover.

As for something for Trousers to read at 5am - well, obviously this is not a time that exists in my world, so he will have to put up with my thoughts on wot I learned Yesterday:

'trying to reproduce a scrummy Italian meatball & pasta dish that you enjoyed 2000 miles away cooked by an Italian chef doesn't necessarily work in the home kitchen, however it might well taste okey dokey nevertheless.'

And Chef Trousers is welcome to ponder on the above & comment accordingly.

If Trousers is online at 5am, he could play Mob Wars with Mr Sheds. He isn't sleeping well, bless. Prolly worried that I'll get him to make another bookshelf today, or that he'll have to taste another half dozen of my home brews, or help me pick up leaves, or bring me the keys to the bike that I locked up a mile away...

Well, my day yesterday was rather lovely. Nothing at all to do with gardening. My friend & I ventured into town to do a spot of shopping, i haven't seen her in person for a few weeks so much gossiping/catching up/putting the world to rights was done! We had a lovely lunch at Wagamamas - which i love love love, then we went to the theatre darling. To see nothing posh or high brow i may add (wispers...went to see Never Forget, the Take That musical!)

Well, I learned that I'm not as young as I thought I am and shouldn't go throwing huge boulders around at my age My back wholeheartedly agrees this morning
I went to a chantier at my friends house yesterday - a sort of work group where you work a bit and then spend the rest of the day eating and drinking (non alcoholic stuff) and chatting - 'twas a warm, lovely day in both senses of the words.
I'm soo glad that you had a lovely holiday, you both deserve it but, I'm with you and Hazel too, it's good to go travelling to forn parts but it's lovely to be home again too xx

Over the last week i've learned that the art of M. Paul Cezanne is a lot more interesting than you think on first viewing it. And that no matter how terrified you are at being shoved into a group of strangers, it's worth trying to overcome it because it's never as bad as you think.
And just this morning, i've learned again that we rely far too much on electricity - hideous weather has got us another power cut and i'm posting on here from my mobile phone! Just going to get on some waterproofs and go fetch the gas stove from the lottie - i've had no cuppa yet this morning!

I've learnt that you can't access Wellie's Blog unless you are invited.

And that if it says rain and looks fine, get the washing done. As, when it says fine, it can rain and you've missed an opportunity.

Yesterday I learnt that a hug from MrH can make me feel better no matter how awful I feel, but I have to let him hug me for this to happen

I also learnt that right now I can't paint snow scenes!

I learned that a weekend breakfast is much less stressful with OH still in bed(poorly). The children and me had a lovely morning!
He always picks on them at weekends. Drives me bonkers.

I learned that sometimes I just need to be a bit braver! We had a trip booked for this weekend, but I've been plagued with vertigo and double vision for the past couple of weeks so I was not looking forward to a car journey, dinner, theatre and a night away from the security of my own bed! I was afraid of falling over, throwing up and looking an idiot in an eye patch! Well all my fears came true but I had a brilliant time anyway! We went up to the bright lights of Bristol to see the Queen musical 'We Will Rock You', it was the last night in Bristol, but it's moving up to London now and I highly recommend it for any Queen fans (or even like me, not such a big fan, but I do love a good show!).
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Yesterday evening we went to the Halloween Special 'edition' of Owls by Moonlight at the Hawk Conservancy. Watching owls flying with just enough light to see what is hapening is magical, and every ticket sold helps pay for nestboxes for barn owls, and other endangered raptors (plus the Oriental White-Backed Vulture program, 98% population drop in 15 years, due to diclofenac being given to lame cows, which then die and are left for vultures........)
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
