I was going to say that. The guy FAILED!

I'll be standing in a field, freezing my ass off, probably. People don't seem to realise that pointing rockets towards a field with ponies in is not the brightest idea. Then I'll go shopping. I hate banging fireworks, so am hoping that there won't be too many of those tonight. My cat doesn't give a hoot. He opens an eye sometimes, but it's more of a 'Do you mind? I'm trying to sleep' gesture.

I love the really loud ones - the ones that you can feel in your chest when they bang/boom.

Locking the doors & keeping the cats in I may have a beer or two.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Not doing anything tonight as O.H. is not too well & it's chucking it down with rain. If the weather's O.K. tomorrow we might go to the local free display in the park, it's usually very good & they have a small fairground as well.

Organised displays fine but I'm with those that think general sale should be banned...

Last time we went my little boy spent the whole time in tears with his head up the back of OH's coat - terrified. ( we couldn't leave as car was blocked in)

              So probably nothing here

We're not doing anything tonight except hoping that the atrocious weather puts off the hooligans with fireworks that send the dogs mental....

We do have a bonfire ready in the garden, but since we're a couple of inches deep in standing water and it hasn't stopped raining since Sunday, I doubt we'll light it!

If it dries off a little, we'll light the fire on Saturday and have friends round for a meal...

I'll probably be listening to next door's dog howling; and counting my kitchen gadgets.

We used to have loads of family round for bonfire parties when the kids were young. Now we don't really bother. I'm off to choir tonight. Dunno why - I've got a sore throat! Still, you can learn your part by listening.

Well its started...Its like Beirut, the windows are shaking with those Big Bang one, the cats petrified and that's after half a tablet from the vets to try and keep him calm.

We will be having a big bonfire party on Saturday with about 60 people coming. The three cats will be shut in the front bedroom with radio 4 on as background noise. They are not hugely fused and seem more put out that they cannot circulate and be fed titbits.

Its a bring a rocket party although one friend generally turns up with a few 6" mortars as used in proffesional displays and they do turn night into day. Scarily they are set off with a battery.

Food wise its proper bonfire food, snorkers, faggots jacket tatties, a chilli, a curry, lots of sides and lots of vino and good music. The clay oven will be lit as will the outside fireplace.

Oh, and I will be wearing my kilt.

Let's hope its not too drafty for you them PW, or there could be more than the tatties getting warmed on the fire .
