I just don't put 'posh' glasses in - all the others go in no probs. It does take a long time for them to go cloudy.

It will send tupperware type things a funny colour too over time.. very entertaining

Mine's in storage as we don't currently have room (it was that or the washing machine), so it's just me n my Marig*lds! I really miss it, my DH uses just about every item in the Kitchen some evenings, and it takes me ages to wash up.

(Currently you can't see the sink for the pile of stuff from yesterday - I'm on strike!)

We were told by a dishwasher repair man to steer clear of the Tablets and use the seperate salt/granules/rinse aid etc as the tablets are notorious for bu@@ering up the dishwashers.

My husband has tried to convince me that women have smaller feet than men and this is in order that they can get nearer to the sink and therefore make the better dishwashers. Will someone hold him while I hit him?

Gosh, Ollie - whatever next! Good things have to come in threes you know- maybe you'll find a gf over the weekend - (or get your dry clean only trousers sorted!) Send me some good luck if you have any to spare!
On the subject of glasses in the dishwasher- I put mine in blithely because a) I can never keep a set of them unchipped for long and b) if a glass breaks or goes cloudy I have an excuse to upgrade to a new set! At the moment I'm on a few old chipped ones so I can get a nice new batch for Crimbo!

I just love my dishwasher. Its an old second hand one but its fab. If it goes bang it will be replaced instantly as I hate washing up, but no bugger ever volunteers to help me
I do try to run it every other day though instead of every day now.

I only run mine when it's full.

Ooh, another tip ~ If, for any reason you need to open Dishwasher before the cycle is complete, turn off the on button and THEN open the door gently. Sis, yanks hers open and not only does she get thru DWashers faster than I do vodka, the rude yanking means the hot detergenty water splashes out and marks the flooring (indelibly).

Well I'm a little bit disappointed.
I put my first full load in (having sorted the salt and water hardness settings out), after a few failed attempts realised that I hadn't turned the water back on after connecting the hose up.
I ran the first load on an economy wash, but it didn't get some chicken kiev 'gunk' off an oven tray and left some basil shreds in the bottom of my mini blender. It also left everything soaking wet.
So I ran the dirty stuff through again on the highest, hottest setting. Everything came out just as wet and just as dirty. I even put a pan in there with some rice stuck to the bottom (left it on the hob just a little too long, not burnt though) and it didn't shift a single grain. Although putting it under the tap on a slow trickle pulled almost all the rice off it.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Ours beeps to let you know the cycle's finished, but then we leave it for a while for the residual heat to dry it all off. If we take it out immediately after it's finished it's:

                              a) wet
                              2) chuffin hot

Are you leaving it for a bit after it's finished?
