Thank goodness for that! I watched it twice after Monty left and had to turn it off both times. i hope they see sense and return it back to its original format- alan titchmarsh then carol klein and chris beardshaw would be ideal.

Great news - now we have a dream lineup of Alan T - with slots by Alys, Carol, Monty when he feels better and Joe Swift and Toby to go down on a lottie somewhere and do some serious veg growing!
Mind you my favourite was always Geoff Hamilton. *sigh*
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I am so glad I am not the only one not liking the new format.
I dont have anything against the team, they are all decent people and good gardeners.
But I havent enjoyed anything about this last series.
I enjoy watching the bloke with the allotment but I wish he would share more tips, more regularly, on what he is planting and harvesting etc.
Alice is very ecofriendly and gives useful tips.
Carol has a great veg garden but focuses all her info on flowers.
I know as veg gardeners and allotment holders we are biased, and I dont expect to have nothing on flowers, trees, et al. But I have been very disappointed so far.

              Ditto the above, I'm afraid!

Dislike the new format so much I watched the first one, half the second then didn't bother. I like the presenters, but not the format. I suppose they want to make it seem different, so we didn't all complain it was 'same old same old.' Titchy was great, but Monty was my favourite.

I just want some proper tips, with close up camera work on anything that requires a good close look at what is being spoken about.
Projects that I am actually capable of achieving, with step by step of what to do.
How to deal with problem issues.
What to do 'this weekend' was always a theme as it is shown on a Friday night.
Nip to B&Q (there are other DIY stores) on Saturday morning, and get on with what you learned the night before while you still remember it.

                  I'm stunned, but mostly delighted.

                  Might start watching it again.

I just want to see a proper gardening programme, that tells you how to do stuff, when to do stuff, and hints and tips without too much bling.

With the amount of people wanting allotments, and a credit crunch - it ain't rocket science to have a proper 'growing veg on a budget with recycling and seed saving as high priority' programme....is it?
                    Oh yes please!!

I have only heard Bob Flowerdew on the radio - googled him to see the plait - well ... I'll go to the foot of our stairs. That was a surprise! I would rather that GW was a longer programme - an hour and that they devoted a decent amount of time to different topics - lots more on veggies, allotments, composting, basic stuff like how to do cuttings, propagating etc - this is what us newbies need as well as more advanced things for folks who know what they're doing. Or an entirely different programme called Grow Your Own that had loads of other things too - beekeeping, chickens, trees etc. That's the kind of reality TV that I would never miss!

I would like a completely new programme that contained not just fruit/veg gardening but also bee, chicken, goat keeping, and garden DIY - building fences, gates, compost heaps, mending sheds, etc etc ...dont care who presents it as long as they all know what they are talking about...and i would like them to visit ordinary peoples gardens/allotments/smallholdings ......and it would have to be on bog standard TV cos we cant get all those weird ones down here..............

I mostly agree with Jardiniere - I think the BBC missed an opp for a great new programme on veg and fruit growing along with info about chickens, etc.
Wouldn't have mattered if there was some overlap between GW and a new GYO focussed programme just as long as there was serious time devoted to each area of interest.

I think all this change without any apparent gain is probably more to do with things like new producer egos and the feeling that they need to come up with something different - whereas they would be wiser to remember that old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Paul Peacock would make a good presenter...he knows what he is talking about. I just love this site.

I have seen a fair few few changes over the years on gardeners world and have to admit that the current format is not working. Especially when you see a hanging basket being made up with GC purchased plants, yes I know that the majority of people do it that way but I expect more from a gardening programme. I liked Percy Thrower and Alan Titmarsh and they both had winning ways but neither were a patch on Geoff Hamilton. A few years ago Welsh TV tried a weekly gardening programme fronted by Ivor Mace which was brilliant but was only done for one season. It was good in it concentrated on veg growing and showed successes and the failures.

It would appear to 'not be true' sadly - just read it in the press today, I'm sure you've already seen it. It does, however, say AT is coming back to our screens with a new gardening programme
