    <)))))>< a fish

(_)? a hot drink (usualy T, the ? is the mug handle)
c(_) a different hot drink (this one is coffee)
    C(_) Cocoa

ô¿ô someone looking over a wall....

I got used to playing with those when I used a chatroom (real-time chat, rather than a chatty message board)

These are the type I don't see the point of at all, acronyms are all well and good if they save a lot of time with something you're typing a lot but these two take longer than the proper word so only really serve to be a code that a high percentage of people won't understand.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Those ones used to confuse me until somebody said what they meant and they still make me cringe but I think that's because the word "darling" always conjures up those women who screech all the time, calling everybody "darling" or "sweetie" and doing that hideous mwah-kissy thing which is unbelievably false. I know that's not how people mean it but I can't get the image out of my head

The pictorial ones are for fun, not for basic communication......
In chatrooms a cuppa is just plain friendly, or a rose for someone's birthday. Fish (and the 'cat face' one I can never get right) are just a giggle. The ô¿ô is really showing off, because the characters aren't on the keyboard and have to be 'found'<g>

Must say I always wondered what DD meant. What does DH mean?

I think DH usually means Darling Husband.
One which had me stuck for a while was IMHO...in my humble opinion!
