We've got an Alan, he is a Landie mechanic and a good mate - anything too tricky for my other half we get Alan over (and I feed him too )

LOL! Hope he/she is OK now. I won't ask how it happened, the explanation is probably very silly. I well remember a friend putting a dried pea in the entrance to each nostril so they 'looked like bogies'. One became wedged in there and an attempt to get it out with a teaspoon handle and, later, one of those huge Cook's matches, made matters worse. She ran home (yep, it happened at our house and she wouldn't let me tell my mum) and ended up in A&E. I recall being most jealous because she got a couple of days off school and all I got was a ticking off. I think our parents are still mystified as to how it happened though because we were both too embarrassed to admit it.
The worst part is that the pea that did come out we put straight back in the packet, which was one of those mixed with lentils and stuff... I didn't eat stew for two years.
