I endeavour to keep ours spick and span and to be honest it does look good. I just hate the rubbish that blows in from the road.

Problems with front gardens

My front garden is south facing, sandy soiled and looks like a building site at the moment. Once the buiders have finished, if they ever do, we've got to repave the drive and figure out what to do with he grass that dies back each year.
I've thought about a formal herb garden, to make the most of the sun. At least we're off the beaten track so things hopefully won't go missing.

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

BW,
is that all in their front garden?
I get annoyed by passers by saying " You can come round and do mine if you like!"
The first time i can raise a smile
The fourth and fifth i just look with a "how many times have i heard that" kind of look.
We have done our front as low maintainance so we can concentrate on the veg and fruit out the back.
But might be tempted to find extra space if growing goes well this year.

They mean well! But why can't people say "looks nice" instead of trying to be funny? I got annoyed by the old boys on our allotment site asking me if was "having a go" (at allotmenting). Now they ask "do you do all this by yourself?"All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
