Congratulations, it sounds like a good beginning in a lovely place with nice people. Seeking employment is usually a bit easier when already employed apparently.

Wonderful news Bob. I'm really chuffed for you
Olivier sounds like a lovely chap so I'm sure you'll be happy working there. I hope he is able to increase your hours after a while so that it really does sort out your financial worries. In the meantime, enjoy your Sunday lunch. I'm quite jealous

Cheers all, clearly my Bestest Squarest Pants were on display so he knew my name. Lynda my French is so carp he may well have mentioned the ostriches and I just thought he was rambling on about another European country.
Another nice little touch, they have boxes of sweets all over the place, and the clients have to take one, its obligatory. It was just a stress free interview, pleasant people and just nice really. A bit of kindness indeed does go a long way.
Looking forward to Tuesday, perhaps not the 5am start in the bleak mid Bretagne winter, but I now do actually have something to get up for.
Hope I get to drive one of the golf buggies too, they were cool.
Nicos, if you and Mr N are over this way I'll save you some for a sandwich.Bob Leponge

It sounded like the interview that Carling would do.............
It certainly sounds like the sort of place I'd support wholeheartedly as a local shop, and as it gets more known via word of mouth I reckon there'll be loads of opportunity for you in the future. It sounds like good place for ex-pats to shop too - very welcomingHayley B
