Has anyone else been burgled?

Yep - burgled here too!
twice

broke in took car and stuff - all while we were asleep in our tiny house. Car even had a 'tracker' system fitted but was never ever found. grrrrrrrrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrrr

Point one - I would always say "oh yes, but I 'REALLY' am such a light sleeper I 'WOULD' hear .......you dont!!!
Be very warned you have no idea when you are in a deep sleep. Dont fool yourself!

and

Point two - We have security catches on the tiny fanlight window they broke 'EASILY' into.
They dont work!

I feel for all those that have had this happen and there seems to be many of us.....what has this country come to when we write of this almost as if it were a normal thing to have happen.

came home one night to find portable telly on the lawn a bag of small items and cd's etc. let myself in quick and heard movement in the kitchen opened door turned on light to see legs sticking out of the previous tenants large dog flap. so i grabbed them quick and called police. they asked if he was still there and i said i had hold of him, they said they were on the way but don't hurt the person cos it may be seen as assault????? i said your having a laugh he's struggling they said let him go so i opened the door and he banged his head on the frame a couple of times. i couldn't work out what was stopping the door from opening i thought it was his legs how wrong i was anyway they arrived and nicked him for 4 other jobs as well.

Fortunately my house has never been burgled but the garden shed has twice. Once I was temporarily storing some of my clothes in a suitcase down there and they had rifled through all my clothes. At the time, that felt worse than the burglary.

When I was a child we were burgled 3 times in one week, first they took the tv then they come back the next night and did the gas meter (50p's) can't remember what they took the 3rd time but I remember the window being out..

When I left home I moved into flat not more then a mile form the family home I lived there for 2 years and in that time I was burgled once and had my car broken into twice and then stolen, the new car was broken into twice as well.

I think I was on a roll of bad luck, but soon after I moved away form Sheffield and found a new job and met a girl who later became my wife
