Bonjour, do any of the French grapes (or English for that matter) have any experience of Free.fr? I successfully managed to e-mail my SIL and BIL yesterday (MIL has been diagnosed with heart disease and is in and out of hospital due to angina attacks). Today when I replied on an e-mail from them, it was returned undelivered and when I visited the site and translated, it looks like the mail was refused because of too much spam from my server and I'm blacklisted for 24 hrs!

Thank you all - I haven't a clue what free.fr is, but knowing BIL he has sought out a free service. Yes Nic, blacklisted by gum. I haven't had that treatment since being barred from a pub in Whitby. I've sent some mail today that has not yet been returned, so the 24-hr ban must be over!Granny on the Game in Sheffield

Free.fr are a French ISP:
Freebox, la meilleure offre ADSL: Internet, Téléphone, Télévision
If it continues to be a problem, you could alway set your self up with a Googlemail address. Presuming the e-mail client you use is Outllok Express or something similar you could set it up as another mail account, so it would appear just like your existing mail rather than web-based.There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.

When we moved to France- we were recommended Neuf.fr or Free.fr as the best offers and providers.
Orange is always 'easier' because if there are any problems then they will look at the outside AND the inside of the house- they can't do the Gallic shoulder shrug and blame the other 'supplier'
French internet is much more strict than UK suppliers- if you download music illegally- you're warned- then the second time you are banned totally from internet access!!!!
Maybe you need to look at your virus protectors etc ( no idea what I'm talking about to be honest- but I hardly ever get spam- and virtually never in the UK with Zen)....perhaps too much is getting through for the French liking???/ ( maybe it's a good thing???)"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France

It's very unlikely it's anything to do with FF's PC. More likely spam is somehow being sent using one or more of the servers of FF's e-mail provider. If an ISP spots a lot of spam coming from another ISP's servers then this kind of situation can happen.
Some of the ISP's also use SORBS, which can be a right pain in the rear.

Hope your MIL is OK.Last edited by HotStuff; 29-11-2009, 07:38 PM.There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.

Also way back in seventies. Can't remember the name of the pub but sure it was a big one in the middle of Whitby! It was a girls only annual day trip by coach. Remember when the pubs didn't open until noon on Sundays? We all got off the coach and went into the pub at one minute past twelve, me at the front. "Are you not open yet?" I asked quite politely. The response was "Get out now, we don't want your sort in here, you're barred". We found another pub and had a smashing "session", but never went back to Whitby, it became an annual pilgrimage to Blackpool.Granny on the Game in Sheffield
