The Coriolis effect does not dictate the way water spirals down a bathplug. The force is relatively small and only appears over large systems (such as weather, or a particularly long pendulum such as a Foucault pendulum). The force of the water itself would dwarf the Coriolis effect. Most toilets inject water at an angle causing the water to intetionally spin.
