  • The Russian October Revolution is celebrated in November. The revolution was an armed insurrection in Petrograd which overthrew the Russian Provisional Government and gave power to the Bolshevik dominated Soviets.
The discrepancy in the months is because the uprising occured on 25 October 1917, after which the Societ Union converted from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar making the appropriate date the 7th November.

          • Yes, Man has domesticated many animals, but there is a species of ant in the Amazon jungle that has domesticated small worker insects to harvest pollen. These tiny things are bred into captivity, are tended to by the worker ants, and then moved to various parts of the tree they are working on to gather the pollen, before being put into small colonies to pool the pollen into clumps for the queen ant to eat. When the ant colony moves, its the job of the worker ants to move all of their worker insects, manually. They pick them up with their pincers and move them to their new house.

In fact, after a bit of research, it appears its only these 2 species that have domesticated other creatures, as the ramora fish that hoover up round sharks, are there voluntarily.

                            • The term 'mammal' comes from the word 'mammary' because they are classified as creatures which suckle their young. The Duck-Billed Platypus, whilst having mammary glands, does not have teats, it 'sweats' milk through pores! There are grooves in its skin which channel the milk into pools allowing their young to lap it up.
