The Russian October Revolution is celebrated in November. The revolution was an armed insurrection in Petrograd which overthrew the Russian Provisional Government and gave power to the Bolshevik dominated Soviets.
The discrepancy in the months is because the uprising occured on 25 October 1917, after which the Societ Union converted from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar making the appropriate date the 7th November.
