Arghh! My 10 year old has suspected Swine Flu

Poor lamb, he isn't well at all, lying round like a piece of limb lettuce, not eating, coughing, it's terrible to watch. I have managed to get him some Tamiflu so hopefully he will pick up after too long.

Make sure he eats with it otherwise it makes you as sick as a dog. It broke my fever pretty quick but left me feeling as nauseous as hell.

I had it over a month ago and I'm still getting the odd aches now and still feel pretty lethargic.

I'd agree with that ^^^
colleague at work had a terrible time with tamiflu and nausea and said she'd prefer to have just had the swine flu.
I've just been for my swine flu jab. Am aching all over. Ugh.

reading all your problems with flu makes me feel good !
i work at our local art uni, and have had many cases of flu reported, which i have survived without cotracting either flu virus,
because im an "at risk" work,diabetic ,heart attack, astma etc i had both flu jabs and have had no side effects at all. yep i feel good!

Sorry to hear your son isn't well Bek, hope he picks up soon. Probably going to 'put the cat amongst the pigeons' here but, I can't understand the whole 'suspected' bit of it. Diagnosis over the phone etc and then medication prescribed. I've had a few people who I know well, either themselves or their children with the 'suspected' case but only to find out when they then attended their GP to be told they had something else? A young child of 3 with 'suspected' and issued with meds, even though the mother suspected otherwise, to be rushed to the 'on call' GP and was diagnosed with tonsillitis (sp) and had an extremely high temperature, bit of a risk with a young child IMHO. Don't make sense in my book. I'll add, I know no-one with the confirmed SF. Not being funny with anyone and I hope everyone who is ill gets better soon!

My little one (8) has a temp of 102 with headache and sore throat today and looks very feeble

My little one poorly too today, horrid sore throat, she cant swallow without pain, runny nose. Didn't have temp this morning but its rising now
Been to doc, he says its not tonsilitis and its probably viral. She's pretty listless and tired and I've just given work the good news that I won't be in tomorrow as I'm keeping her off school again to make sure she rests and drinks plenty.

There are lots of things going round aren't there? Best wishes to all the poorly babes and to all the frazzled parents.

Still no improvement here, my little one is still very unwell and I found out yesterday after phoning NHS direct that they have told me the wrong dose of Tamiflu at the pharmacy, I'd only been giving him half what I should have been, I did wonder why they'd given me twice as much as I needed.
