Why would anybody do that to their house? Do like the hummor of the neighbours though.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Hi Peter - does anyone do solar Christmas Lights I wonder? If so - I'd be up for it!
That would be better.
What would be even better is if those people who do their outdoor lights for "charidee" were compelled to power the lights by their own muscular efforts on a dyno-bike.
I'd give em a quid for that and their neighbours would know there would be a finite limit to the nuclear glow every evening.
I love seeing the displays people put up. YES it's a waste of electricity, YES it's often totally tasteless, but it's only a few weeks and it is FUN!
We usually waste a bit of diesel going to look at all the most flamboyant displays in our area (and BTW, a lot of the newest are LED, so they don't actually use so very much power).
Our lights go up in Spain, where our power IS mostly solar (and a bit of wind power) so we have to get the ones that don't use too much. The 3 sets of lights, plus the fibre-optic tree use less power left on all night (if we do leave them on all night) than the spin dryer uses for a laundry session, and yes we do HAVE to use the spin dryer, because otherwise we need a lot more water for rinsing the clothes.
We do also have some battery powered lights for under the patio roof. I think we replace the batteries every second year, and those ones ARE on all night, for the 3 weeks we are there.....
