Son in law said to grandson we better go and see the Old Dragon "Dont tell him that" said daughter "Call her Granny Dragon" when they arrived grandson suddenly declared "If she's Granny Dragon you must be Grandpa Dragon" that was about 8 years ago and I have used it as my nickname on the web ever since. This is not my usual avatar which is an animated gif of a little fat red dragon reading a newspaper but this site wont acept animation. Does any one hear know how to stop the animation? as I really would like to use him, he is just what I would be if I were a dragon "Short, fat, a bit tatty round the edges, and always reading the paper Like Jaxom I love Dragons and if I didn't live in Gods Own County would like to live on Pern!

Mine is daft too. I love bees and mazel-bee is " round and curly" I use the word bee far too often. I'm maybe odd. i'm squirming as I'm typing this, I thought there was an ounce of hope I came across as regular but I've thrown that right out the window. I find black boring too. I like pen and paper Blue

Never having joined a Froum EVER I didn't know about nicknames and didn't even come on the website as a guest, just signed on - with my name! Sorry just so boring. Seems to have been shortened to JA by some grapes.

My Avatar - a beautiful picture of the sky taken in Fair Isle (not by me unfortunately). I'm a bit taken with skies (they are big and in your face here) and I'm always taking photographs, so perhaps my nickname could have been SKY.

In view of your comments Jennie I would have thought "Northern Lights" ideal for you.

I'm afraid mine is quite predictable. all my log in names are variations of black and white cats, unsurprisingly because we own four. (it was three until two weeks before Christmas when Mr Wicket turned up, a beautiful black and white cat about 9 months old that no-one has looked for or reported missing so we guess he's ours)

Okay.. time for mine then, although truth be told it's not very inspiring..

When at Uni I worked for a few months at a pub. One of the guys there used to call me 'Shorty' due to my height. Although I only stayed there a few months, and never saw anyone from the place since, it always stuck as a funky tag on the net.

The fact it changed to Shortie instead of Shorty was a simple spelling mistake on the Tesco website and I thought it even funkier

Oh, and the Avatar I thought of when we were talking about one of Mr Shortie's friends who likes him. Spotted it one day nosing through an Avatar site for inspiration so here he is

He's yours Black Kitty, or rather, you're his. A cat belongs to himself and it's just a matter of who they choose to stay with. Mr. Wicket is very lucky to have found you. I hope you will have many happy years together.

Mine came from Compost King and means in French small bird, real name being Jenny, so hence Jenny Wren. The avator is the Willow Bower I made last year and I am really proud of it.

I chose bubblewrap because I was given it when I was working as a security guard. Why would take too long to explain.

Alice, I agree wholeheartedly. Our cat, BC (we didn't name her, but it stands for Black Cat) chose us as her 'Blobs' about 4 years ago.....!
