Far too early yet, will put it up the week before Christmas at the earliest, most likely the Sunday before. To me if it's up for too long you don't get the wow benefit as it becomes more normal and they're a pain to clean around!
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
All our decorations including fake tree went up on the 1st December. Our six year old just could not wait any longer. I wanted to wait until after our youngest had his second birthday on the 18th but when you're six Christmas is the best time of your life and can't start early enough !
Going to go and buy a living one this weekend as OH is working the next 3 weekends so will be the last opportunity to get it together. Hopefully not going to decorate it for a couple of weeks yet although she's such a child we'll probably end up doing that this weekend too!
I want a real one again this year but OH says he doesnt want to pay for one bah humbug. I want to get it this weekend so will have to get it on Sunday we have a chap who has great ones selling from his garrage. I will buy areal one even if OH wont. I am having a body shop party next week and want the house to look good.
Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache
I'm the ghost of Christmas now, Manda. Christmas is great when there is more than one of you. It would actually fed me up a touch to walk into my house and see all the decs etc and realise that its just going to be me.
Will be happier grumpy and decorationless.
Plus my decs and tree went the way of absolutely everything else in this house when the last Mme Leponge departed.

Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.
Falsie here but it won't go up till the weekend before Christrmas. Me Door Wreath is up though. Having been part of the team that made 58 in total, I couldn't NOT have it on show!
Hopefully this weekend gotta get OH to go up in the roof to fetch trees and decs down. We just have falsies its bad enough sweeping up dog hairs everyday without pine needles as well.
S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig a batch of jam is always an act of creation ..Christine Ferber
Not got it up yet as not got any leccie in the hallway as the plasterers not done that bit yet... in fact off to have a rant on the rant thread about such matters. Have got the wreath on the door and some paper chains up and that's it. Hmmpf
Usually I don't put mine up til Christmas week. Always used to have a real tree but got fed up with the mess so now just have a falsie.
This winter just seems so dark and horrible to me that I'm going to put the tree and lights up this week - and leave them up for as long as I like, and I don't care what anybody thinks. Anything is better than the dark.
Bob, if you've got nobody to put the tree and lights up for - do it for yourself.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
We don't have a tree as we don't celebrate Christmas as we are Buddhists, I do put up some sparkles though, glittery baubles and twinkley lights just because i am such a girl and they cheer up the long winter nights!
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown
