my best friend from my school days had her birthday on christmas day and she HATED people combining the two! she always said that we had 365 days notice it was her birthday and could we not at least keep the two separate!
of course no-one ever thought about getting her card in July so we were always scratching round trying to find one the week before xmas.....not easy!

It's the wife's birthday on Christmas day and after 17years I'd rather get a combined card.
I need to stress she gets a Christmas and Birthday present

My sister in law is the same and after her comments about not having her own birthday as she has to share it with everybody else I always make sure I get her a card with a design as far away from anything Christmassy at all so that she doesn't think I've forgotten and improvised at the last minute.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
I have to remember to buy birthday wrapping paper well in advance of December for my December birthday friends. Almost impossible to get anything decent otherwise.
If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess
Do what I've done before and cross out "Christmas" and write "Birthday" on it.
Always funnier if it's for a mid-year birthday. Put some comment inside about 'recycling'!

If her birthday was in say July would you buy her a christmas card combined with her birthday ? NO, so why do it for someone who has a December birthday. My birthday is in January, I was due on Christmas day and I have always hated having the two combined. No one has any money left we cant afford to go out and it really bugs me when someone says on the christmas card oh by the way have a happy birthday. Just dont send me a card at all. My nieces birthday is 29th Dec and I have always sent her seperate cards and presents one wrapped in christmas paper and one wrapped in birthday paper even if it was vouchers.
Sorry rant over.
Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache
mine is 27th & if DH or DD didnt get me a seperate birthday card they know they'd be in deep trouble, I put mine up in the dining room away from all the christmas cards
The love of gardening is a seed once sown never dies ...
My colleague's wife's birthday AND wedding anniversary are within a week of Christmas and all she wants is a thermos flask.
I told him to get her that for all 3!
So...Can anyone explain why I'm still single please?
