    I'd love a clean & tidy house.
It just ain't possible with a free-range parrot and Mr Sheds living here though.
What I hate about housework is that no sooner have you wiped the floor than someone's pooped on it again.

You posted this at 3.21? Maybe when you sober up/hangover recedes you will see this was a bad move

Hehehehe.... Thankfully I don't have the pooping on the floor problem.
Thanks for the giggle TS I now have visions of MR TS following you round pooping on your clean floors

I sympathise with your wife PDB, I joined FB but don't get involved with it, as I know I don't have the time. (So, apologies for ignoring all the invitations from everyone )

As for housework, well, I don't often get that bored that I have to resort to housework myself, and as there's two of us that live here, we share the mess making and the clearing up!

            I so hope you're joking!
I confess to sometimes spending more time than I should on FB and there's days where I look around the house with regret at what I could have done instead BUT...being a housewife can be an incredibly lonely job.I made the decision to be a stay at home mum,so maybe I shouldn't complain, but Facebook & here have become my little lifelines, preventing me from going mad with no one but myself to have daytime banter with.(the kiddies are both at school)
I suggest if your OP is serious, you need to have a good chat with Mrs PD,see if there's anything additional you can do to support her and make her feel valued and maybe the housework will start to get done...believe me,there's nothing more disheartening than spending a day getting on top of the dreaded housework, only for the tribe to get home, bring mud in on their shoes and not even notice the efforts you've made.Don't deny her the break that online networking can provide....I make a bet she feels just as crap about the state of the house as you do.....if she's anything like me,the word overwhelmed springs to mind!

Exactly this, except I home school my kids, so they are home all day. In my case it's like this: Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the drive before it stops snowing.

I agree that treating her like one of the children is most likely going to back fire. I know if my hubby pulled a stunt like that I would not do any housework or cooking to prove a point.

Ok, I've unblocked it. Having thought about it I probably was bit childish.

Oh, and she's finally stopped throwing things at me

Hope the household status quo returns to normal soon.

Well done PD for recognising when you made an error in judgement. I hope things now work out better for you all. A good discussion is usually the best way to sort these things out

I hope that much of the OP was tongue in cheek, if not then I feel great sympathy for the woman being in such an unequal partnership

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
