I dont know if any of you have suffered the same problem ! i have an samsung american fridge freezer with a digitial display, if we have a quick power cut or like yesterday the daughter accidently unplugged it ! it doesnt come back on until its completely defrosted itself ! so last night i spent the evening trying to cram everything into the built in fridge and freezer in the kitchen which isnt very big, and also my neighbours freezer ! the fridge repair man said " the digital display doesnt like a quick on and off " ( yes i had rude thoughts also when he said it !) but the dam thing is driving me nuts !!! i`ve started to have nightmares about it !

Our old one had a digital display and it was fine, could cope with being turned off and on as many times as you wanted (not that we did very often, obviously) so don't really understand why it should be any different and it does sound a bit like a design fault with that fridge rather than a general issue - are you sure the repair guy isn't taking the michael? Only replaced ours when it finally died after about 15 years and a night spend with the freezer door open (whoops!) which stained the motor somewhat.....

I cant beleive it !!!!!!! my hubby plugged the fridge in this morning to try it, and the digital display was still registering just one little green line on the display like it does when it refuses to come back on !!!! in a fit of temper he pressed the ice and water levers together ! and it reset the display ! it doesnt mention anything in the manual about this ! it was just sheer luck, all the food we have lost when we have had power cuts etc !!!!!

We have a perfectly ordinary fridge freezer (cheapest we could find as we were skint when the previous one stopped working). Only during the next winter after we had installed it in the shed did we discover that it doesn't operate in ambient temperatures below 10 degrees C. What use is a fridge-freezer that only freezes when above fridge temps??????Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
