  • finally got to see the skin specialist today

not bad only taken 5 months to get the appointment .... so much for government waiting list guidelines ........... anyway .... has been prodded and poked with needles and they took gallons of blood ... like soooooo many tubes ... and i'm going on something to suppress my immune system .... tis the stuff they give you when you had a transplant .... which means i have to have blood tests every 2 weeks in case it kills my kidneys ... but it looks like i'll not be rejecting any organs in the near future ...

but you just know with a reduced immune system ... i'm gonna catch something horrendous .. so if anyones coming to visit .... bugger off if you have a sniffle lol ... ..well lets see if this works .... would be really nice to not look like a freak for xmas .... she said she's seen my disease 3 times in the last 30 years and never seen it as bad as mine ... always gotta be different ... please cross everything that this works before i scratch the rest of my skin off xxx

yeah lol ... it's called granuloma annulare ... which sounds posh ... but basically means an overgrowth of skin cells in a circular pattern ... it now is covering every part of me except my hands and the soles of my feet ... oh and 4 square inches of my bum lol

Well the fresh air in Helensburgh/Garelochead might help (less air pollution) - fingers crossed. Hopefully the new treament works, I guess you will need to transfer your treatment to a hospital nearer to you when you move (the SGH perhaps? - just don't eat in the canteen)

blow that lol ... took me 5 months to see one here ... i'll come back to mancs ... although i'm hoping it's all gone by the time i move lol .... the skin's the main reason i'm not moving till next year ... cos changing hospitals mid treatment doesn't work. can have tests done at docs surgery, only need to see specialist once a month.

It sounds like you've been prescribed the same sort of stuff that I was given for my hands... Just make sure someone else is keeping an eye on the state of your head, would hate to see anyone else in the state I was in. On the plus side, it did make my hands better, for a little while.

I know its completely different but it took me years to see a skin specialist as I have horrendous eczema that rendered me unable to move. Once I saw a specialist it mostly cleared up. I so sympathise with you as I understand how bad skin can make you feel x
