Believe me there is nothing normal about my niece she is one in a million lol love her to bits, only wish is that her mum was here to witness what goes on lol or that her dad gave a toss about her.

You're not going to stop kids from taking phones to school, but we have a rule that they must not be used on the premises during school hours. If seen, they are confiscated and kids are given a receipt. They can collect the phone Friday afternoon at 3.15 or if confiscated on Friday the following Friday. If parents want child to have phone, then they have to come in and collect it themselves. If any child needs to get a message home, the office staff will always ring! On a separate note, you would be appalled by how many parents do not give us up-to-date home phone numbers or mobile numbers so that we CAN'T get in touch! When their child is ill ..... then what?

          Facinating thread!

My High School age kid has a mobile - there are strict rules at her school for the phone to be off. Generally those who are foolish enough to think they can get away with it will lose their phones for a day and/or week depending on the level of offence.

What is the phone used for? She rings me at 8.20am to tell me she has forgotten her homework - the reply is generally short!

Otherwise it is a means for her to ask permission to be home late (having gone to a friends house) or to tell me about transport problems so I can come out and fetch her if needed.

She is good and doesn't muck about too much - equally the phone in question is worth zip so if it gets 'taken' she is under orders to give it up and never protect it. I'd rather have her with no phone than no her!
The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!

            That's what she says!
It may well have been that she'd been using it throughout the lesson, and that last time the teacher caught her out.
            I don't know.
No disrespect Jackie, you and your sis are doing a brilliant job, but kids will try it on! And on!
