Lynda, I know, I know. That's why I'm not having a row with him: I'm venting (calmly) on here instead.

    Yes, he has form.
First Xmas we were together I had flu. He went to the pub all day anyway, came home and went to bed. Didn't even get me an aspirin.

Last year's Xmas do, he came home and threw up all over the bathroom.
This year's summer works do, he came home and threw up all over the bedroom & bathroom.

Snap! Although it took me several years more to get round to it .

He's a farmer and went to the Smithfield Christmas thingy in 1983. To be fair it snowed and he couldn't get a train back that day as BR (or whoever) had cancelled all services.

That shouldn't have stopped him from phoning me to say what was going on. The trains were running the next day and he didn't appear for 3 days. I knew what was happening through one of his mates wives whose husband had the common courtesy to tell her they were stuck.

He then fell asleep on the train and ended up in Cardiff (instead of Swindon). Had to pay extra to get back.

Rang me from the station to ask me to fetch him as he had no money for a taxi. I told him to wait in the bar of the hotel opposite the station. It took me about an hour to dig the car out of the drive, put our 5 week old son in his carrycot strapped into the back seat and slide my way to the station. HE WASN'T BL@@DY THERE .

He'd got fed up of waiting and gone on a pub crawl. I didn't know that at the time. As I couldn't find him I had no choice but to drive home again.

He eventually appeared swaying on the doorstep at 2am the next morning.

I have my own evil ways of revenge .

I'd be for hanging - though I'm not specifying which bit I'd hang him from!

I would be hopping mad so well done you for staying calm!

I might be tempted to not only shrink his jumper but to put some itching powder in his pants too!

No dinner? Ah go on, make him a lovely greasy, runny-fried-egg sandwich. You KNOW it'll do him good!

OK, if the bleep has form, and if he really is a totally selfish chauvenistic a-hole, then I'm afraid I'm with Flum - hang him from his dangly bits - and hang him high!

It may be the season of peace and goodwill and all that, as Lynda says, but it is supposed to work both ways!

I'd rather he stayed in a hotel and threw up there.
