Shortest day of the year and our 4 chickens gave us 4 eggs today! They've been down to 3 most days for the last 3 weeks. Looking forward to the lighter evenings again.

Made a trip in the -3C temps this afternoon to stock up on bird food and cat litter(something doesn't scan quite right there?) and made it home safely to the VIne and Midsummer Murders (Just how many times have I seen that?).

Tomorrow HOPEFULLY the kitchen will be finished but the decorating will not now be sorted until 2010.

Happy solstice everybody. I love the cards, they are brill.
We were going to light the burner (old dustbin) tonight but we are so full of snow it's not practical so I am putting lighted candles in the garden where they can be seen from the house.
