That is exactly the one I spoke about. The 5 single weekly blocks is exactly as it states, do a module at home then go and do a weeks practical course.
Firstly, at the end of that course, I couldnt transfer that across to France as a workable certificate, because there is stuff on the NVQ2 course that I need, and the 6129 doesnt cover it. Thus I would need to do still further study, attracting still further expense.
Secondly, because I can only do it in single week blocks, that will mean 5 trips to the UK, and all the resulting travel costs that means. The other ones I have looked at, allow me to come across and do it in much larger chunks, thus reducing the travel costs to only 2 trips.

Sorry Bob, misunderstood I thought you meant you wanted single weeks. Doh! But from either provider to do the NVQ 2 6089 you have to do the C&G 6129 - so I assumed that the Able 'home study' would be quicker and cheaper (only 5 weeks), before you went on to do the work-based bit of the NVQ?

Both company's are listed on the C&G official website btw (Find a Centre bottom lhs.)

Yup I do indeed have to do the 6129 as part of NVQ2 but am intending to do that along with the rest of my requirements on a single course, with the ability to break it up into 2 chunks, thus reducing overall costs, course costs as well as travel costs, accom etc.
However, first of all I have to go and avoid getting shot for several weeks to fund said watery festivities.

But it isn't a single course - even with PPL it says "The City & Guilds NVQ 2 in Plumbing Course (6129 & 6089)...is actually two courses, City & Guilds 6129 level 2 (done at PPL) and City & Guilds 6089 level 2 (assessed onsite while working)."

          They charge £6319.25 inc Vat

How long are you expecting the 6089 to take?

          Or you could do:

          C&G 6129 Home Study @ £2995 & NVQ 6089 @ £1995 (up to 6 visits)

Or you could do the NVQ 6089 seperately with other providers? As long as you've registered on the course I presume you'll be seen as 'working towards' your qualification?

It would mean less time away getting shot at.
