Glad you are home and getting in the mood, but with kinky apron and chef's hat (I like to embellish a story lol) I don't want to know what you are in the mood for!
We have 16 for dinner this year, and I do actually have an apron or two hanging behind the kitchen door.

As a bonus after doing the Christmas shop I found that I had not used the tesco stamps I had been saving all year so went back very eary this am and bought 4 bottles of Heidseck champers (2 for £25) and some goodies for the new year.

A very festive 3 days to you PW, possibly no need to say, but enjoy.

        Lovely!
Could you pop round here next, cos Mr TS left the house at 8am on some mysterious errand that probably involves seeing his dad, going to the bookies, and attending the pub.

I'm not sure who he thinks is prepping all the dinner

I still haven't made the mince pies. Mr R in the office this morning, so we've just made the mincemeat whilst singing along to Chrissie Hynde's '2000 Miles.' They should be ready in time for the first bottle of fizz early evening! Have a fab time everyone.

Merry Christmas Piglet and All! Just got some veg to prepare for tomorrow - then off to Midnight Mass to play the carols (actually it's at 8.30 - the chap has 2 parishes to look after!)

After that it's breakfast (smoked salmon with scrambled eggs (from our own girls this year) and a couple of bottles of fizzy and Christmas dinner, both for 10.

How on earth do you manage that?

We've been cooking our Xmas dinner (only for 4) since 9am, because it refuses to do more than one dish at a time, and tomorrow will be all about the meat

              You must have an aga?

No Aga, just a double oven rangemaster with grill and 5 hobs, ideal for big cooking.

Not only that, two sheds, but after recent capers that you have posted about it sounds like you a) deserve one and b) are overdue for one - and it is an expensive rangemaster or such like I am talking about!!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I'm back! We decided on the walk
a - to put the garlic in tomorrow [i found a bed that wasn't frozen solid]
b - to have roasty potatoes in yorkie pud for tea tonight. With lashings of gravy. Yum.

                      Best get peeling!

No Aga. I'll put in the turkey at 8.30 and innards to boil for gravy.
10 people for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with Cava (brut!) at 10. Pudding to steam at 12.00 ish. Turkey out about 1.30 - 2.00. Filo parcels for warm nibbles in then.
Spuds parboiled at 2.00. They will go into hot oil with shallots at 2.10 -ish, along with stuffing, then the other veg will go on around 2.30. Hand out hot nibbles and drinkies at this point.
Tittivate gravy and other veg from time to time.
3.00 -ish - whip off pinny, dish up and shout 'Service' to various younger rellies delegated to take the food to the table.
Eat, drink and be jolly happy! A small top oven is an advantage!
