The sympathy vote says it was -2 deg going to my allotment this morning according to my car. It took me half an hour to de-ice it!
My drive, 150 yards long, has 3 inches of solid ice on it and the local Tesco's was like a skating ring also!
Got to allotment and the main gate lock was frozen and the whole area was solid ice.

On Christmas day, we had about 8 cm of snow on the ground, with a clear blue sky and beautiful sunshine. It was warm enough to be out in a sleeveless dress, shoving bottles of Champagne into the snow as my 'overflow' fridge. Really lovely day, and most days since have been the same - clear and sunny, with snow everywhere still!

Today is the first without guests - we had neighbours here for drinks last night which didn't end until after midnight, and needed to 'regroup' a bit today. I think I had a mild hangover - my first in 3 years! Made bread, froze remaining turkey meat for risottos etc. and made a soup with bones.

      Lovely slow day...

It was clear Blue skies over the quarry today with the sun giving a bit of thin winter warmth. Being surrounded by embankments though it was out of sight by mid afternoon and turned rather baltic. - 4 by the time I left work at 7pm.

          It's turned really cold today.

Temp is still 5C, same as yesterday, but with no sun and a northerly wind, it's really not at all pleasant out there

It was -5 this morning when I took the dogs out. The oldest one was holding his paws up one at a time a looked pretty miserable while I thought my face was going to snap off . Big fire in the stove now though - lovely.

Weather today, lashing rain, gale force winds, totally grey skies.
In other words, completely and utterly miserable and more of the same forecast for tomorrow.

Bucketing down here, but went out to see some friends this morning and made tomato soup this afternoon, feeling all cosy now

This morning has started so bright and clear you need tinted glasses. The sky is duck egg blue and the roofs, hills and trees sprinkled with stardust. The air is still and the silence is so deafening I can only dare speak in a whisper. The temperature in my little bit of heaven is -9c. Can it really be true?

Beautiful here this morning. Now about -5 or so, blanket of ice all over, the cobwebs on the wing mirror of the car are absolutely fantastic.
Going to dare venturing into town in a sec with no gritted roads round these 'ere parts, so could be entertaining.

Snowing heavily in 'sunny' Blackburn. Sister's wedding today and if it carries on there'll be no guests, mind piccies will be beautiful if the wedding cars get through!

We have woken up to heavy snow again this morning just outside Edinburgh. My dad measured the depth of snow in the back garden last night and it was 9inches. I think we have had atleast another couple of inches this morning to add to it! At the moment I can see patches of blue sky through the snowfall.

The sky is so dark here, I have the light on!
                              It is piddling down.
