That's my resolution too - though I don't have a definite plan of action, just vaguely walk more and eat less.

One resolution that i plan to stick to is the old 'work life balance'.
The scales this year for one reason or another have been tipped way too heavily on the work side.
This was a necessity due to work courses, closure of old school, finding new job, taking on challenging role etc, etc.
However for the first time since i can remember i seem to have been ill with one thing or another for getting on for six months, a direct result of putting work before my own well being.
So i am going to ensure that i do not burn the candle at both ends 24/7 as have been doing and i will say it here infront of witnesses i am going to have the weekends off!!!
Also the usual loose weight, walk more etc which coupled with not sitting infront of a pc doing school work will sort themselves as i get more physically active and fitter.

I don't normally make resolutions but as this is the game we are playing here goes:

          Get fitter - walk more
Lose half a stone - more walking

          quit smoking

Did I write that small enough so you lot won't notice and ask if I manage it?

Snap except we have two spare bedrooms and a dinning room that are dumping grounds. I have decided that we need a really big clearout, I am going to see if we can afford to move as This christmas it was a real squash all trying to get in our small lounge. I have lived here for 21 years so lots to sort out, OH moved in 16 years ago and brought all his stuff, so with two of everything we soon became full. There was seven of us living here and now only three so why have I got more clutter now than then.
I am also going to work harder at my se job and put more effort in then maybe I can give up my part time job.

To kick my self up my backside
I've spent the last few months feeling sorry for my self both physically and mentally

I'm realising that although my physical health will always be a issue I will not let it stop me enjoying my life again (after all I should be used to it after 20 years) and that hiding from the world does not actually make things any better

I will stop being stuborn and will accept help when offered

I will continue with my task in life to try to make at least one person a day smile

I have also decided to find a pet name for my walking stick, instead of being ashamed of him Im going to be proud of it, after all excluding my family and friends his one of my best supporters.
who knows I might even grow my own Walking Stick Cabbage plant

so I carve my own stick

I'm going to appreciate more what I've got ( and if I could lose a bit of weight in the process that'd be even better!!)

New Year's Resolution - What's yours and are you sticking to it?

                            Happy New Year everyone!

Not been on here for a while but the sun is shining on the snow and ice and I'm thinking ahead to Spring and planting seedlings...

Until then I've been busying myself with my New Year's Resolution. I already own a stage school called Theatre Cats which keeps me relatively active but I want to be healthier in 2010. So, my boyfriend and me decided to go veggie (but still with the occasional fish dish) to see what the health benefits would be for us both. We also have daily goals of 15mins minimum of exercise per day and to drink 6 glasses of water.

We started the veggie meals on 2nd Jan and we're loving it! We've not had any tofu, just meals simply based on vegetables. We also ordered our first veg box from Riverford which is fab! Day 6 today and the meal will be courgette and cheese fritters with potatoes and carrots on the side not sure how healthy it is but sounds great!

Has anyone else made a New Year's Resolution? And how is it going?

Give more time to my relationships.

Learn to say NO, and stop taking on too much.

Stick to a healthy diet, exercise more and LOOSE WEIGHT.

                              De-clutter, de-clutter, de-clutter.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.
