  • anything good in the Sales?

Apparently the whole country is going sales-mad, what with the VAT increase coming in tomorrow.

I didn't bother sale shopping this year, but happened to be in town yesterday to meet my sister for lunch (she stood me up, didn't even bother phoning to cancel or apologise), so I consoled myself with:

    - Clarkes shoes £25 off
    - a lovely jersey dress (free, I had a gift voucher)
    - a new jumper, £20 off (because I got it in Oxfam)
    - earrings to replace lost ones, £1.50
    - fabric for a Chanel-style jacket, half price
    - jeans to match the jumper, half price
    - lunch, free, because I managed to gate-crash Mr TS's works New Year party

Total spend: £60 instead of over £180. Feels nice to buy myself some treats

We are off into town at some point today for our annual 'Mr Z dragging me round whilst I whine and winge about the amount of people bumping into me' session. Last year we went with 3 things on the list that we wanted - got fed up, went to the pub; came home and bought online and they turned up a day or 2 later - so no carrying involved and at cheaper prices.

Nice one TS, it nice to spoil yourself sometimes. Not doing the sales due to absolute lack of cash this year but hey ho. Guildford is heaving anyhow.

Went to the shops yesterday and found my top, trousers and hand bag for tonight in the sale soooooo not impressed .
So I phoned my best friend up and asked if she wanted to go to Parkgate (big shopping park near us) she said yes...me being me, puts devious plan into action, when we got there I went straight to the shop, straight for the sale rail, luckily they had my outfit in, got my friend to buy (with my money) my top, trousers and bag while I took the others back saving.......£93.00...now that's what I call a cheeky bargain

Got some lovely jewellery in accessorize sale, which son and heir bought for me for my belated christmas pressie as i wouldn't let him spend his money unti they were reduced.
Also got a lovely bag and top with 75% off with christmas money from my OH which saved about £70.
I don't ever buy things at full price, i am a junk shop, charity shop, re-use/re cycle sort of girl.
Didn't buy anything else cause have no money after having to get new boiler last month.
But have a toasty warm house!
