Prefer the 2nd but only just. I've got a painting in the hall that's the same abstract type painting as your 1st (different colours of course) Hubby and I bought it at an exhibition which was raising money for Headway, you're very gifted, MrsC.

My first thoughts are - are these parts of pictures rather than wholes? the texture on the first makes it look like this is only a section that we are seeing...

You've certainly got a good eye for movement and colour.
Must be lovely to have an artistic talent!

Very neat pastel work, tricky to do competantly but you're doing a fab job. I just make sludgy mess. Perspective is also very good, the dresser in the second pic is an excellent example.

I would definitely give them wall space. They'd sell well at craft fairs too.

Lovely atmospheric colours. Would be really nice to do some of flowers/veggies.

Thanks guys for your kind comments. I've got loads, been a busy bee over the Christmas holidays! They are full size pictures, not part of them. Done lots of different styles

I am very impressed. When I have tried pastels they have finished up a splurgy mess

I agree with zz9 - pic 1 looks like a close up cos the grain on the paper - perhaps use a softer/finer finish with your pastels or maybe use cotton wool to smudge big areas (if you haven't already).

I liked them both: number 1 has lovely colours but the subject was too ambiguous for me and I couldn't decide if it was grasses or a bridge to start with, but I have just been skwinting at a spreadsheet for the last 3 hours so don't take it to heart, I'm sure it's more my eyesight.

                            I love number 2 - I particularly like the different aspect/angle you've gone for - fab.

Love the colours in the first, and the detail and perspective of the second. No. 2 would be my favourite. God bless your talent!
A good beginning is half the work.
