  • Best non-present!

My lovely Mum has signed her RHS subscription over to me! And it wasn't even a christmas pressie!!! Soooo excited- can see lots of trips to Wisley coming up this year. Always take my Mum as Dad's not up to lots of walking around any more. We haven't been to Hyde Hall yet. Is it worth a visit in the winter? Any hints and tips from other RHS members to get the best out of the membership would be very much appreciated. I know it gets you into various gardens free at certain times. I'm in Stevenage,Herts. Anyone know any good gardens near here?

Hi LG well done - unfortunately I just cancelled my subscription due to lack of funds!

Yay! Lucky you lettucegrow. I've had RHS membership for a few years now - I only live about 30-45 mins from Wisley (depending on traffic). What ever else you go and see don't miss the rhodos and azalias come May.

Since I need to increase the amount of exercise I am getting I an hoping to go there once a week (or more likely once a fortnight) and maybe keep a photo diary.
The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!

I went to Wisley at the weekend it was absolutely lovely! Half price on most plants too, so I got good value from my Christmas vouchers

Yeah - a bunch of grapes who like to go to Wissles!!! I'm only 35 mins away (depending on the old M25!) I have to say I hardly get my money's worth of membership these days (I need to get out more!) but my favourite parts are the model gardens and the allotment! I once took a friend who insisted on picking the melons and trying to eat them. So embarrassed!

You lucky thing TPeers. We're not far from Wisley miles wise but when the M25's rammed we might as well be the other end of the country!!
              Anyone been to Hyde Hall?
