Sorry Peter I didnt explain very well,
Its A0 EACH
Good Idea Mrs D about the calender, I did one a few years ago for our rugby club and was hiding my slight embarasment along with the other two in the front row as we were pictured crouching ready to engage, rugby bods will know what I mean by that saying so no naughtiness please. Everything was hidden by shadow.
Anyway, I am up for tasteful nudity if a grape calender ever gets out. Now Mr Tudor, think of the publicity in that !!!!!!!!!!
And to quote from the calender girls film Mrs D "We may need considerably bigger buns"Last edited by pigletwillie; 16-01-2007, 09:08 PM.

I'd be sued by the photographers for breaking the glass in their lenses if I were nude PW (plus I dont think they've a wide enough angle lens yet invented! lol), and imagine the scene, as Greenpeace run onto the set, demanding I get put back into the water immediately! (Beached whale joke, in case you didnt get it!)Blessings

I've got the regulation tennis court sized allotment and as I have no garden at all look on it as a mix of garden and allotment with flowers, wildlife areas and a place to sit in the sun, with the shed and greenhouse, 8 compost bins, 6 waterbuts and a 30ft x 8ft area that has trees ( and now flowers) it is quite a chunk out of my space. I am gradually working my way through reclaiming it all but if you want to grow potatoes, beans for drying, tomatoes for sauce, fruit etc to keep you going as long as possible it doesn't seem enough, so am seriously thinking about taking up another one in the autumn when an old friend retires from his immaculately kept plot.
This will make me a multi-allotment holder. There are still unkempt plots on our site, at least two lots started last year and gave up in double quick time, so not taking anything from anyone else, should I feel bad about that?

Have to agree Sue, one plot isnt big enough to grow everything we want to, plus I'm planning on making enough passatta and tomato ketchup to last us a year, so methinks at least a greenhouse full of toms AND at least 10 or 12 outdoor bushes are the bare minimum to grow enough! (We eat a lot of toms, especially when I'm using them in cooking!)
So have to agree with your viewpoint and say well done and if you can do it, then go for it! Its what we are doing anyhows!
PS there are still several unlet plots and at least 1/3 of the let plots are in a pretty bad state, with no waiting list and few takers, so while they are going spare I have no problem with taking another!Blessings

I aim to do the same Mrs D and will have a polytunnel full of tomatoes and another full of peppers and chillies. This obviously cuts into ground free to grow other things on and if you grow lots of squash like we do to last through the hungry gap, even two isnt enough.Last edited by pigletwillie; 17-01-2007, 12:31 PM.

If you think it's bad enough growing all the veg you'd like imagine wat it's like of you want to grow all the flowers you'd like as well!!
I have to limit myself to 1 plot as I don;t really have the time to look after more ( although I did consider keeping my old plot & turning it over to Flowers, fruit & polytunnel - hmmmmm still like the sound of that.
As to the banter about Mrs D. I can say honestly that I joke about it in the same way that it was done for years in the tradition of the sea side post card. We had a smashing young lady at work who I joked with the in the same manner & she once asked me what I'd do if she call my bluff - "I'd SH*T myselfg and run a mile " was the reply and it would be true. I'm alot braver on an keyboard than I'd be in the flesh (if you pardon the phrase).
It is intended as just naughty schoolboy humour an I hope you all take it a s such.
Now then thinking about the calender - I don't think a couple of cherry buns will be any good (if you've seen Calender Girls you'll understand) - maybe th Pair of Marrow class
PS at 5ft 13" you area good 3" taller than me so I won't argueLast edited by nick the grief; 16-01-2007, 10:08 PM.
