Now that's a nice apology! I wonder if those two pairs of jeans will last as long as one pair of "old" Levis would though.
On the "what we wear" front - I'm currently living in a pair of Tommy Hilfiger ones. Never in a million years would I have thought of buying them, they were a gift and are great. The denim isn't exactly what I'd call heavy duty but feels a LOT better than most 2 months so far and they are still in really good condition.
As for the generally falling quality - I'm half thinking about just buying a few metres of really good quality denim and asking (nicely of course) my girlfriend to make me some jeans from that. It'll be a fortune less than anything bought in a shop, durable, properly fitting and totally guilt free (since she doesn't work in a sweat shop).
All I'll need to do is figure out which of my jeans to hack up as a pattern.
