  • Had about a foot of snow overnight with more forecast. Local shops have run out of basics and no doctors able to get in.

Comfrey, Dorset is a late starter as usual. Wet snow swirling around. Nothing settling much yet. Just got back from Morrisons for essentials. They have Blossom Hill red/white £3.00 a bottle. Don't need to go shopping again for a few days lol

        • Still snowing up here, not that you would know if you watch the news though. The BBC has totally given up on Scotland!

          • Steadily snowing, not big flakes but settling. Horses are out in the paddock they love to frolic in the snow, as long as they are rugged up! apart from our little Shetland who isn't bothered by this, she has got a little field shelter though and I always hang a haynet in there for her to munch on.
Chickens are happy in their arks, its just difficult to keep the water from freezing! I don't mind the snow but will hate it when all this turns to MUD!!

                • We have had snow up to an hour ago but now we are having thunder, lightening and showers of huge hailstones. What more could we wish for.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • Flurries of snow on lower ground. Much heavier though on the mountains, where its covering existing frozen snow and compacted ice. Nearly totalled the car half an hour ago on fresh snow.

                    Take care everybody.

                    • I couldn't decide whether to let Mr TS drive to work today (it's a 60 mile round-trip into deepest darkest remotest Norfolk, so he could feasibly get stuck out there for days).
With that in mind, I sent him off.

He did take a Hannah Montana blanket and a box of crackers in case of emergency.

Well I'm only 8 miles north of you, and ours has mostly gone. We got heavy snowfall on the walk into school, and I thought about turning back, then wet snow at first break, then rain at lunchtime.

The walk home just now was mostly clear, just a few patches of scary black ice left on the shadier pavements.

                          • Continuous snow here with heavy snow forecast from now on. Local radio is saying power is out in parts of Hampshire and nearby Alton are having problems with their water supply.

                            • Snow: Good or Bad?

Maybe it's because I'm still a child at heart, or because I "Don't have kids, I wouldn't understand!", but I love the snow. It's so rare that we have it for more than one day. I don't care how much of it falls, I'll just deal with it, it's an adventure.

I shouldn't like it because: I have to travel all over the countryside every day in it, if I don't go out I don't get paid, it's cold, my little car doesn't cope very well in it and my work shoes have no grip at all. But none-the-less I love it!
