  • I hate it.
The whole country grinds to a halt, the shops run out of everything, people fall over and break things, people get stuck int ehor cars for days on end and old people can't afford the gas bills to keep warm. Plus the garden and my chickens don't like it. And the birds can't find food. What's so good about it!?!
BORED of snow now - a little bit on xmas eve is fine, apart from that IT'S NOT WELCOME!

and yes my mother tells me I had pretty much the same atttude when I was little lol

    • Don't like the h word much but I seriously dislike more than a day or twos worth. Many of the oldies in the village are more or less housebound as the footpaths here all slope quite badly towards the road - years of the council slapping tarmac on but trying not to make the pavement edgings too high. The result is that even in good weather it's difficult walking if you're not nippy on your pins.

      • The snow itself is great when you aren't working. Have spent the second day at a Section Station as I couldn't get to the usual place! This is fine but all work I have to do is over there - hence spent the day on the vine and the internet. Thankfully we are not allowed on e-bay or I would have spent a fortune.
The two highlights of my day are:
        1) Walking the dogs across the fields at 6.30am - nobody had been out so had virgin snow to me and the dogs....Hard work though stomping through a foot deep.
        2) Coming home and taking the dogs out for an afternoon walk - the snow sends them mad and because they had a great time, I loved it too. Top marks to snow for making the countryside even more beautiful.

        • We've still got lots of snow, got wrapped up and went for a walk this morning and was shocked to see fresh foot prints in the snow across the fishing lake

          • It's a pain, can't do the things I want to do (although it's been a great excuse to work from home the past two days). Want to get outside to do loads of remedial jobs outside but can't find the ground let alone anything else and after the first bit of prettiness you just end up with grey sludge / ice for days to come.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

            • I love snow, we've been out walking in it this morning there must more than 8 inches and its still falling.

I don't like it on Saturday though because that's when I work as a delivery driver for my local motor factor and last week I got stuck and had to turn around.

              • I fell twice today and once yesterday. I got hit by snowballs at school today but I got my revenge in badminton - accidently.

                          • Good at the moment whilst it's soft, white and fluffy with blue sky and sunshine - it was glorious outside walking at lunchtime today, wish I'd had the camera.

Bad when it starts to thaw and turns into nasty grey slushy stuff with dull grey skies and damp air.

So I like and dislike snow!

                            • We had over a foot of snow between Monday night and yesterday. Not much has fallen today, but I have opted out of digging my car out of my drive and got the train into work yesterday and a lift in today from a friend with a 4x4. Roads are very slushy and slippy already, so they will be even worse tomorrow as it is forecast to be -7 overnight.

                              • Hate it, hate it, hate it. And I wasn't very fond of it before I smashed my ankle into many pieces. It makes me feel sick with fear every time I have to leave the house, and, I'm on the brink of murdering my kids. Just been told the school is shut again tomorrow
