Snow is where?

more snow here

We had several inches in north sheffield on tuesday. It snowed pretty much all day and stopped late in the evening. We had a couple of flurries yesterday and the it bucketed down for a hour last night. Our main roads are clearish but I dont live on the main road and we are severly snowed in. We are supposed to be a bus rout but we havent seen a gritter since before christmas. I dont hold much hope out to see a bus back on this rout in the near future.
We have had a forcast here for more snow today and almost every day for the next week. I hope they are only flurries.

I wasnt minding it to much but I am completely snowed in and have to somehow make a 4 mile round trip to get my dogs medication from the vets ( she is on daily pills and cannot go without them). I am now begining it hate it.
I had to try and dig out areas of my lawn just so that my dog can go to the loo, it was quite funny at first watching her try to fing a good spot but she has only got little legs and she is now having a tough time of it. I also am now deparate to find out if it has killed any of my shrubs or small plants like the snow in march did and the floods the other year did.

We had some yesterday morning - just enough to play snowballs with the grandchildren and build half a snowman. Froze hard last night, the road outside is like a skating rink. We appear to have had a few snow showers during the night, but not much depth.

None overnight so the roads were still clear from yesterday when I took Mr. G in to work at stoopid o'clock. We have a bit coming down now, but hopefully his car parts will arrive today, so he can transport himself n I can stay in bed a bit longer!

I know what you mean. Driving home yesterday I turned into one of our side roads which is completely white - well apart from the bit of 'orrible slush stuff that's fallen off a car. Made a nasty looking blemish on a beautiful white canvas. I was nearly tempted to get out of the car and throw it off into a bush or something.

But I didn't.

Weather Event.

Can anyone tell me, why when reporting about the weather we no longer have a fall of snow or a snow storm we have a snow event?

On a similar subject, we never have power cuts but power outtages. Why?

Blimey. We've got a weather warning with temperatures going down to -15 today! Beautiful blue sky and sunshine though. Foot of snow of the ground - too cold to venture out with babies I think...
