Has anyone been watching this? Have only seen the first episode (beefburgers) so far...

I wasn't shocked by what happened to the bullocks - how else did they think it would be done? I thought it was all calm, respectful, and done with great care for animal welfare and hygiene etc.

However, I'm not sure I can deal with another 4 episodes of the Vegan guy, who got on my nerves as soon as he opened his mouth!!! I thought I would dislike the horse-rider lady, but she seems pretty sensible and clued up about what actually happens and why.

What do you think?

Not seen any of this series as have found that the last few have been quite repeative. They're quite informative but I don't feel they're telling me anything that either they or similar programmes haven't already.

Enjoying it OWG. As it's a bit late for me I record it, so I'll watch the lamb one tonight. I think the debate between James and the horsey lass is getting a bit boring though. I don't know why she just doesn't tell him straight out that he's a bit of a pr**t!

Ive got to agree with you that guy is a massive tit, I would have to tell him his idea of all animals living in harmony would be great if we could all live on the same planet as he does.
And we would have to somehow convince all the carnivorous animals on earth to turn vegan, if I cant have a sausage then why should a cat be allowed to eat a mouse?
And how is his conscience clear when he murders all these innocent vegetables?

We've just watched the burger one. I think Mr. G wanted to punch the Vegan chap, who I agree, was very irritating. To be honest, I am having trouble understanding his viewpoint regarding not eating animals. I also find it strange that he just stood there totally devoid of emotion as one was killed right in front of him. What was the purpose of having him on the program anyway?

As a chef, the word vegan sends shivers down my spine Anybody got any lentil knitting patterns. In fact scratch that, I love lentils.

I don't understand Vegans either...however, I am a veggie. I'm not preachy though, as it's all relatively new to me. I was a HUGE meat eater, but recently found myself unable to eat it anymore...it's not about animal welfare, because all my meat was organic free range, etc. It's a spiritual choice for me...it's the extinguishing a life that I can't accept...on a personal level.

I still believe that eating meat is perfectly natural, and acceptable, PROVIDING the animal has been treated with respect during it's life and at the end of it's life.



I'm not sure I could watch it...but will certainly look it up!

Its just finished! I have no problem with whatever personal choices people make about food. What got my goat was that guy tonight was far more interested in what the others felt or thought about eating meat than at owning his own reasons for not.

Change of topic any suggestions for a good everyday veggies cookbook please?
