I have just been clocked by some neighbours, with sweeping brush in hand, brushing snow off my bamboo plant and various other plants

Actually snow is a good insulator against the frost. You only need to brush it off if it's threatening to break branches.Comment

That was the problem RL - my bamboo is very tall and it had been taken down to ground level and stuck into the snow, it looks very sorry for itselfaka

Your not nuts, I did this with my bay, I agree snow is a good insulator but when things are bent double, it has to be knocked off.... here's something to make you smile till the better weather gets here.

If you could just extend the sweeping around camp a bit Piskie, that would be grand. We're coming up tomorrow - hot water and towels time has arrived!
Actually they've sent a work crew round to clear the drives/road for DD and her neighbour both ready to pop!Life is too short for drama & petty things!

I do the same with my pampas grass plumes the birds use them for nesting so I don't want them to get too damaged.Location....East Midlands.Comment
