OK, so, what does everyone eat on a 'normal' day (averagely)...
Brekkie: Porridge made with skim milk or homemade granary toast with butter
Lunch: Jackets and beans or homemade veggie soup
Tea: This is what differs the most for me - can be a pasta or rice dish (spag bol, risotto, biryani, veg lasagne etc), or a casserole and potatoes type of meal (sausage & bean casserole, chicken & veg casserole etc)
Snacks: one or two of the following: yoghurt, flapjack, homemade biscuits, occasionally chocolate, sometimes ice cream for a supper snack!
I don't think it's that bad. I eat plenty of veggies, but not enough fruit I think. Portion size is my main downfall!

Lunch tends to be a sandwich or cheese on toast.
Supper could be whatever is in the house. Usually meat based though I am now looking for alternative non meat recipes. Tonights is spag bol.
We tend not to have puddings unless it is a special ocaision. I think like OWG that portion size is my problem.WPC F Hobbit, Shire police

I imagine that's not as popular a diet because it by Vegans but as it says high carb diets are linked to low rates of obesity & diabetes - its actually on a diabetes site - I wanted to know what the answer was.
The biggest reason so many of us in the developed world have a weight problem is prosperity. We can afford more food than we need, we do less because our lives are so 'machine assisted' and we don't have to burn as much energy on just plain keeping warm, because our homes are centrally heated! (expeditions into really cold climates use vast calorie intakes, simply because of the temperatures. I am convinced that a similar, but much more modest, effect applies to the fact that our homes tend to be warmer than those of our grandparents).Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
