A glass of tap water and some dust?!

You know that muscle weighs more than fat? So it's quite likely you've lost fat, but also put on some muscle And muscle burns calories even when you're slumped on the couch

      • The one diet on which even the occasional binge is drastic is.. ATKINS, because it relies on the ongoing near-total absence of carbs to do its magic.
I can only do Atkins if alone in the house, so the carbs are simply NOT THERE (I just don't buy anything carb-y).

        • well, weigh in day tomorrow and I've been oober good this week so had better see the benefit. tried on an old shirt which ceased to fit at christmas time and it fits now, so am hoping the "muscle/fat" thing is what may cause any lack of weight loss!

Yes..... know the feeling, Hilary! Was so craving something sweet this afternoon that I poured some liquid, just made, sugarless jelly into a bowl, mixed it with cream and ate it with a spoon! No carbs, a bit messy but it did the trick. I could then be satisfied with a chicken drumstick! Jelly and cream really is a lifesaver - I have it every day. Now, why don't they make sugarless chocolate jelly?

Hey Mac, this is a public forum, you are free to join in whererever you like (I know I do ), you are always welcome.

I stayed the same a Weight Watchers this week. Not surprising as I've been comfort eating for England this week!!! Bloomin' hormones!!!

                    • Nothing private here Mac, don't go away

Am actually going to weigh myself at work tomorrow. Probably haven't lost much if any, but while my legs will never be super slim, they and the bottom are definitely feeling the benefit of all the walking!
Getting a bit better with portion sizes too.

Sorry, sorry! I keep forgetting that you don't have the book, G4. will try to do better!

                        I am now down to 11st 12lb - that's a 2lb loss over 5 weeks! Just a bit slower than I wanted.

                        • I've not been fancying my porridge lately, and having toast instead. It really doesn't fill you up as much: I'm starving by 11am break.

I thought I'd had a bad few days (too much wine) but I have only been having one yog for lunch, and a veggie dinner (stir fry or curry) so not that bad really. Not enough exercise this week, I've had to walk to work in the ice (3 miles a day) so no energy for jumping around.

                          Will try harder next week

No probs Hun - I've just 'borrowed' the Atkins Cookbook from my Mum - it looks very very familiar, as does the carb-counter booklet that I lent HER at the same time

As for the slow loss, it's better than none!

                            • Another lb and a half off this week! Don't know how but who's complaining!
A good beginning is half the work.

                              • I registered with the Atkins website yesterday, hoping to find the answer to the slow weight loss, but so far they have not even sent me the email confirming my membership! Will pass on any tips I get from this.
