Let's lose a bit of weight

  • So I have lost 3lbs this week but am sure this is without question due to sick-bug.
    My stomach is so bloated today I can't do my trousers up at all and am wearing an elasticated skirt!
    I have had 3 mouthfuls of homemade soup and that was all I could manage and couldn't eat any breakfast at all. It's weird cos I am hungry but so full up feeling! And this from a lass who likes to eat
    Have made an appointment for docs but can't get in til next weds... so will know more then if I haven't exploded by then lol

    In the meantime I am umming and ahhing whether to go to dancersise, maybe if I just do it gently? Maybe it will help the bloatedness? Couldn't go Monday as was in midst of sickbug, and as managed to go twice last week I will be cross with myself if I don't manage it at all this week.

    • Hey Janeyo, I wouldn't go to dancercise if you're still not feeling great. aslo if you're not sure what sort of bug you've got. A few folk at my work have gone down with something which sounds similar, so am guessing it's doing the rounds. So another reason not to go and maybe pass it about. Maybe just go for a walk - the fresh air may do you more good than being cooped up in a hall also.

      • Antacids might help to reduce the bloating, Janeyo, and could also help you to feel less nauseous. I know you're not eating much at all, but have you thought about cutting out wheat and dairy for a while? These are the two greatest culprits in IBS. Whatever you do I hope you feel better soon.

          • Hi all. Well it's a 3lb loss for me this week. Am well happy! Have been really good eating and exercising this week, so hopefully can keep it up. Thanks again for all your help

              • Thanks OWG - unfortunately, no secret, just sensible eating with less carbs than usual and lots of walking and biking and weights! Like the man on the telly says - "eat less, move more".....

                  Just in from an hour hill walk, tough going as still quite a bit of snow, but I could just feel those pounds sweating off

                  • I would love to get out in the hills Elsie so am really jealous. We've still got lots of snow too so don't think I'll get out this weekend either. So it'll be round the woods behind the house with the pooches, which is still better than sitting in the office as I'm doing just now

                      Surely the snow must have go at some point and you can get up Bennachie soon

                        • Lovely pic Mac. We still have snow on the highest peaks, but lower down it's all but gone.

                            Pretty I went from walking on a snowy hill yesterday to walking on a warm beach today. Between that and 2 hours digging/destoning in the garden I feel quite well exercised. Still haven't start our jogging training, we've half agreed to do a 10mile run in september - and I need plenty training time. Another incentive to loose weight - less to carry along for 10 miles

                            • Only lost half a pound this week, but considering I didn't get to the pool or out walking, I'm not too disappointed. At least it didn't go on.
                              A good beginning is half the work.
                              Praise the young and they will make progress.

                                it all adds up and sure if you'd put on 1/2 pound it would feel like loads
